The short version: WhatFor collects nothing, sends nothing, and stores everything on your phone.
The app does not request the INTERNET permission. That is not a promise about our intentions — it is a restriction enforced by Android itself. Without that permission the app is physically incapable of transmitting data anywhere, and you can verify this in the app's permission list.

All of it lives in WhatFor's private storage on your phone. It is excluded from Android cloud backup and from device-to-device transfer, so it does not follow you to a new phone.

Lets WhatFor see only which app is currently in the foreground, so it can stay silent during calls, navigation, and the camera. The app does not log, store, or aggregate this. It is read in the moment and discarded.
Android requires a permanent notification for any app that runs in the background.
An accessibility service that performs exactly one action: turning off the screen when your timer runs out, the same as pressing the power button. Your fingerprint keeps working afterwards.
Accessibility services can be powerful, so here is precisely what this one is limited to. It declares canRetrieveWindowContent="false" and subscribes to no events, which means the operating system does not give it the ability to read anything on your screen — not text, not passwords, not what app you are in. It is capable of one thing only. You can turn it off at any time from Android's accessibility settings, and WhatFor puts a link to that screen in its own Settings.
Settings → Delete all my data erases every session immediately and permanently. There is no cloud copy to delete, because there was never a cloud copy. Uninstalling the app also removes everything.
WhatFor is not directed at children under 13 and collects no personal data from anyone.
A future version may add an optional paid tier and rewarded advertising. If advertising is introduced it will require the INTERNET permission, which Android will disclose in the app's permission list, and this policy will be updated before that version ships. Your typed intentions will remain on your device regardless.
Material changes will be noted here with a new date, and announced in the app's release notes.
